This was a possible business venture John Torpey from KBA Architecture, Inc. had mentioned to me in random conversation. I just had this in my head so I came back and went to work. John usually inspires me like that.

Part of the KBA Architecture identity. Letterhead, Envelope and business cards are show here. The business cards display their logo along with one of the three main KBA colors

KBA Architecture invited us to create a postcard invitation that would invite clients, friends, family and business associates to the opening of their new location. (I don’t think I have ever used versions of the word “invite” so many times in once sentance before)

We were asked to help develop a brand for a presentation in Vineland, NJ. The developers were called East Gate Partners. The poetry written for the presentation is here and in the side bar. “A star doesn’t have to shine, but glitter. A spotlight lights more than a stage - Gateways to heaven are meant to live - The day of cities is here today!”

  • “Vision is the acceptance of a reality that transcends the imagination, uplifts the whole of humanity, heightens aspirations; paints a picture of intriguing concepts”

“I AM more than a living space
    A monument of hope
An activity of progression stirring the masses
    A magnet of attraction

I AM more than a place of learning
    Teaching new ideas
    Breaking the bounds
The reflection of true modern living

I AM more than a center of beauty
    A scene captured in space
The height of accomplishment and envy
    I AM Vineland’s East Gate”

Here is a mock up design we developed for a custom, architecturally built presentation folder for KBA Architecture. We were even thinking of doing pop-ups on the inside.

KBA asked us to create some artwork for the grand opening of their new headquarters in Millville, NJ. To celebrate this new home, I went out and took pictures of the surrounding area. These posters are created using only their 6 solid corporate colors. Each one has a title at the top that says: KBA Architecture, Inc. is a pioneer in the dawning of a New Age in architectural design and technical services. • Michelangelo is noted for freeing the images he saw trapped within solid rock. He could also see the potential of raw elements. Likewise, KBA understands that each land acquisition must be approached with open-mindedness. Each site presents issues that must be addressed in context with the bigger picture – land use planning, environmental restrictions, and social-economic impact.

KBA moved their office to a location that sits right on the Millville airport. Each year they have an airshow and with KBA having front row seats right at their office, they were nice enough to invite family, friends, clients, co-workers and the awesome crew at STUDIO_GRAPHICS. The copy reads: Calling all lawn chair copilots! Bring your family, food and coolers for a spectacular event of aerodynamic stunts and antique marvels. Join us as we gaze upon the wild blue yonders and the fascinating exhibitions of the 14th Annual Millville Wheels And Wings Air Show.

KBA Architecture, Inc. or “Key of B Architecture” asked us to rebrand their company. They wanted to update their old look but keep the “pillar” idea and visually create something that they could use just about anywhere. My challenge was to “build” this identity just like they would build a building or create a house. I wanted to be the architect of this identity. The logo in color is their final choice with other ideas that were created in the process below that.
